Hi, I'm Hussien
I am Hussein Salih, a photographer. My passion for photography began with my fascination with the details of the human face, the deep diversity reflected in its features, and the profound struggles visible within them. This led me to art as a natural extension of this human and visual passion.
I continued working within this framework until I developed my talent and published my first photography book, “The Side of the Soul”, which documented the plight of Ethiopian refugees after the recent war in their country and their journey to Sudan. I have also held several art exhibitions, the first titled “Noor”, followed by “The Traveling Memory”, and then “The Trace of Shadow”.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with numerous institutions, academies, and universities, in addition to international news agencies and media channels. For me, photography is not just a hobby or a profession; it is a life I live and through which I express the human story.
أنا مصوّر فوتوغرافي. بدأ شغفي بالتصوير الفوتوغرافي من اهتمامي بتفاصيل الوجه الإنساني، وبالتنوّع العميق الكامن في ملامحه، وبالصراعات الكبرى المنعكسة فيها. من هنا اتجهت إلى الفن بوصفه أحد المسارات المرتبطة بهذا الشغف الإنساني والبصري
واصلت العمل ضمن هذا الإطار حتى طوّرت موهبتي، وأصدرت أول كتبي الفوتوغرافية بعنوان «خاصِرَة الروح»، الذي تناول مأساة اللاجئين الإثيوبيين بعد الحرب الأخيرة في بلادهم ولجوئهم إلى السودان. كما قدّمت عددًا من المعارض الفنية، كان أولها «نور»، ثم «الذاكرة المسافرة»، ثم «أثر الظل»
تعاونت خلال مسيرتي مع عدد كبير من المؤسسات والمعاهد والجامعات، إضافة إلى وكالات أنباء عالمية وقنوات إعلامية مختلفة. وبالنسبة لي، لا يُعدّ التصوير الفوتوغرافي فقط اهتمامًا أو مهنة، بل هو حياة أعيشها وأعبّر من خلالها عن الإنسان وقصته
